CROYDON LOCAL OPTICAL COMMITTEE (LOC)

In the borough of Croydon we have a Local Optical Committee (LOC) which consists of local optometrists, a primary eye care adviser and a secretary.

The Chairman of the Committee, Christopher Kerr had his own practice in West Croydon. Our Vice-Chairman and Treasurer, David Barker runs a practice in Central Croydon. The other members of the Committee have practices in Croydon, West Croydon, Thornton Heath, Purley, Coulsdon and Addiscombe. Our primary eye care adviser, Charles Greenwood, is adviser to several local optical committee’s.

The Committee represents all optometric practices in Croydon. It liaises with the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) on matters relating to eye care. It also works closely with Moorfields Eye Hospital to develop shared working across the borough. The LOC meets four times a year and holds an Annual General Meeting each autumn.
